Yezur is the world: a sphere of many continents set among wide seas, from the narrow straits that join Andusia to Ignusia to the island chains reaching toward Taccho. Its history runs oldest along the eastern inland sea of Ignusia — the cradle of civilization, where Hertic was first set down in writing. From there the world's five language families have carried their tongues far and wide, even across the ocean into the New World.
The continents
The world is shared among eight great landmasses: Andusia, Ignusia, Lovvocia, Pandenica, Sihia, Taccho, Vetsia, and Vetsihia.
The languages
The tongues of Yezur belong to five families. Those set down so far:
| Language | Endonym | Era |
|---|---|---|
| Gaillean language | Ghaellea | Ancient |
| Hertic language | Χερτεχι | Ancient |
| Lonish language | Lôniêv | Modern |
| Nichana language | Nehchánh | Modern |
| Pjany language | Peanei | Modern |
| Uu language | Uu-Co | Modern |
