Map:building

The building key marks the footprint of a building. building=yes is the generic value; more specific values describe what the building is.

How to tag

Draw the outline as a closed way and tag it building=*. Use building=yes when the kind is unknown, or a specific value (such as house or church) when it is not. What happens inside a building — a shop, an office — is tagged separately.
