The '''Dictionary''' is the interlingual lexicon of Yezur — a companion to the [[Main Page|encyclopedia]] devoted not to things and places, but to '''words'''. Because Yezur is home to many languages, its words are best understood side by side. A single entry can trace a word back to its family's proto-language, set it against its cousins in sister tongues, and follow it as it is borrowed across the borders of families. Tracing how the world's languages meet and mingle is much of the interest here.

Each entry belongs to a single word in a single language, and gathers:
* its '''meaning''' and part of speech;
* its '''pronunciation''' and native spelling;
* its '''etymology''' — the roots from which it descends; and
* its '''relatives''' — cognates and borrowings in other tongues.
The lexicon is only beginning to be gathered; more words are added as the languages are described.

The Dictionary gathers the words of Yezur's many tongues — what they mean, how they are spoken, and where they come from. Where so many languages meet, a word is best understood beside its kin: an entry can trace it back to the family it springs from, set it against its cousins in neighbouring tongues, and follow it wherever it has been borrowed across their borders.

The languages
