Herta-Olaic is one of the five major Yezuri language families, native to the south of Ignusia and the north of Andusia. Its attested members include the ancient Hertic and Gaillean languages, and Proto-Herta-Olaic has been reconstructed.
Branches
The family takes its name from its two largest branches, the Hertia branch and the Olay branch. The Hertic language belongs to the Hertia branch. Herta-Olaic also comprises several smaller branches; the Gaillean language belongs to one of these rather than to either principal branch.

Colonial distribution
Herta-Olaic languages were carried abroad in waves of colonial expansion, coming to dominate nearly the entirety of Sihia and to occupy large parts of Lovvocia in the New World.
