About Yezur
Yezur is a hand-mapped fictional planet — a single-mapper worldbuilding project run by Wib on a self-hosted OpenStreetMap-API-compatible stack.
What this is
The map you see is rendered from an OSM-style database edited via JOSM
and the bundled iD editor. The pipeline takes mapped features through
osmosis, osmcoastline, and
planetiler to
produce a .pmtiles archive that
MapLibre renders as vector tiles.
A tileserver-gl raster proxy backs the homepage map
you're looking at right now.
What this isn't
A multi-user instance. Email is disabled, signups are dormant, the
diary / messages / communities surfaces are unused. The single
account is wibbol; everything mapped is one mapper's
handiwork.
Credits
Built on top of openstreetmap-website (GPLv2), planetiler, osmcoastline, MapLibre GL JS, and tileserver-gl. The map style is a Yezur-flavored variant of OSM Bright. All these projects are doing the heavy lifting; this site is just a little shell around them.
